Amy Gorsha Robicheaux
Amy Gorsha Robicheaux, 78, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.
Amy Rae Gorsha was born on March 3, 1933 on Avoca Island to John and Emily Gorsha. She was the second youngest of ten children. She was a great wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and spent time with her.
Amy is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years Merwyn “Roby” Robicheaux; her son, Mark Robicheaux and wife Melissa of Berwick; her grandchildren, Zane Robicheaux of Atlanta, Brynn Robicheaux Crady and husband Jeremy of Nashville, and Carla Hinkle Foret and husband Jeremy of Patterson; her great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Robicheaux.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Robicheaux Hinkle; siblings, Jakey Gorsha, NJ “Bonnie” Gorsha, Denver “Dutch” Gorsha, Bessy Zeyzus, Thelma “Tee” Mula, Geneva Carpenter, Shirly Mae Gorsha, Eldora “Dori” Simmons, and Russel Gorsha.
Funeral services for Amy will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will begin at 12:00p.m. until 4:00pm and the Memorial Service will be at 2:00p.m. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
