Marion Duval

September 29, 1929 — July 8, 2007

Marion Duval, 77, a resident of Morgan City and a native Klotzville, La. passed away July 8, 2007 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Marion was a member of the St. Mary AARP and St. Andrew Catholic Church. She loved cooking chicken stew, white beans, and okra gumbo; she also loved dancing and music. Marion lived for kids and grandkids and loved to have them visit her home. Marion had a big soft heart and helped reared more than her own children. Marion is survived by six sons; Roland Duval Jr. and his wife Doris of Mexico, Earl Duval and his wife Regina of Morgan City, Michael Duval and his wife Janice of Patterson, Charles Duval and his wife Angela of Morgan City, Rickey Duval of Miss, Danny Duval and his wife Bernadine of Gibson, two daughters; Katherine Ratcliff and her husband Cyrus Sr. of Bayou L’Ourse, Janet Aucoin and her husband Earl of Morgan City. Two brothers, Newton Verrett of Miss., Gilven Verrett of Morgan City, one sister Helen Theriot and her husband Joe of Miss., 22 grandchildren and 30 Great-grandchildren also survive her. Marion is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Roland J. Duval, one son, Mark Duval, her parents Adlen and Ava Landry Verrett, one grandson, Troy Ratcliff, two great-grandchildren. A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed on Monday, July 9, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm, resuming, Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 11:00 am, with Father Danny Poche officiating. Marion will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
