Rita Marie Verdin

February 7, 1930 — July 9, 2007

Rita Verdin, 77, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Theriot, La., passed away at her residence on Monday, July 9, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. Rita was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, she enjoyed traveling, fishing, shrimping, camping, music and dancing. Rita had a love of animals; she especially enjoyed feeding the ducks at Lake End Park. Rita enjoyed vegetable gardening and using the fruits of her labor in her wonderful cooking. Rita was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Rita is survived by her husband of 59 years, Clarence Stephen Verdin Sr. of Morgan City, two Sons, Michael Verdin and his wife Vickie of Houma, Clarence Verdin Jr. and his wife Britt of Berwick, one Daughter, Regina V. Landry and her husband Dwight of Monroe, NC. She is also survived by one brother, John Louis Billiot Jr. and his wife Margaret Ann of Ozark, AR., and four Grandchildren; Jennifer Monssen and her husband Georg of Phoenix, AZ., Troy Verdin of Houma, David Landry of Charlotte, NC. and Danielle Landry of Monroe, NC. One son Wayne Verdin, her parents, John and Agnes Verret Billiot and one brother Charles Billiot, preceded Rita in death. A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed, Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 9am until 11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11am with Father Danny Poche officiating. Rita will be laid to rest in Morgan City Mausoleum.
