Allen Barras

September 30, 1936 — July 14, 2007

Allen Barras, 70, a resident of Bayou Vista and a native of Napoleonville, passes away on Saturday, July 14, 2007. Allen was the son of the late Enodia and Esma Aucoin Barras. Allen proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a salesman for Streva Distributors for many years. Allen is survived by his wife, Kathyrn Vinning Barras of Bayou Vista, one daughter Cynthia Landry and her husband Michael of Bayou Vista, two brothers; Earl J. Barras of Napoleonville, Manuel Barras of Houston, TX and one sister Hazel Ponds of Dickerson, TX. Allen is also survived by his three Grandchildren; Terri Landry of Bayou Vista, Cherri Landry of Morgan City, Mary Landry of Morgan City, six great-grandchildren; Blaine Landry, Ethan Landry, Jeffery Lambert, Arian Wiggins, Mary Wiggins and Austin Wiggins. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Enodia and Esma Barras, three brothers, Joe, Lawrence and Howard Barras, one sister, Doris Fredrick. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 1pm. Funeral services will be held at 1pm in the Funeral Home. The East St. Mary Veteran’s Funeral Squad will conduct graveside services. Allen will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
