Catherine Ganaway, 66, a native of Hardin, Ill., and a resident of Bayou L’Ourse, La., died July 15, 2007, Baptist by Faith a member of God’s Way Church.
Catherine will forever be remembered as a kind, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. And will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She was the daughter of the late Silas F. Hill and the late Lola Lucille Johnson Hill.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 47 years, Charles Ganaway of Bayou L’Ourse, La., two sons; Charles E. Ganaway Jr. of Bayou L’Ourse, La., Louis F. Ganaway and his wife, Joan of Bayou Vista, La., three daughters; Kim R. Vining and her husband, Floyd Jr. of Berwick, La., Ginger L. Bonin and her husband, Lockwood Jr. of Morgan City, La., and Melissa D. Marcel and her husband, Corey of Bayou Vista, La. four sisters; Ruth Snelson and her husband, Bill of Patterson, La. Norma Kyle and her husband, James of Bayou Vista, La., Mary Jordan and her husband, Jim of Crestview, Fla., and Earlita Howland and her husband, Rick of Winchester, Ill.
She is also survived by two brothers, Jimmy Hill and his wife, Jackie of Hardin, Ill., and Michael Hill and his wife, Lori of Pittsville, Ill., and one brother-in-law, George Vining Jr. of Patterson, La., and seveteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Linda L. Vining, one brother, Dennis W. Hill and one grandson, Johnathon Ganaway.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 18, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home.
Visitation will resume Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Funeral service will be held at God’s Way Church in Bayou L’Ourse at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007. Final services will be held in Hardin, Ill., Sunday night and Monday, July 22, and 23, 2007.
