Jimmy Dale Landry, 57, a resident of Bayou Vista and a native of Lafayette, passed away Saturday July 21, 2007 at his residence. Jimmy was the son of the late Paul and Audrey Pratt Landry. Jimmy was proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Jimmy received a Purple Heart for his tour in Vietnam. Jimmy loved to cook for friends, especially stew and rice & gravy. Jimmy loved riding his bike “Cadillac”, country music, and reading. Jimmy will be remembered as a man who loved to help people, a jokester and someone that did things his own way.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Marsha Goodman Landry of Oberlin, La., two sons; Troy Landry of Oberlin, Destiny Landry and his Fiancée Selena Sons of Morgan City, two daughters; Candace Landry and her Fiancée Robby Knight of Bayou L’Ourse, Shantell Provost and her husband Lance of New Iberia. One sister, Ida Lane Farrar of Oakridge, TN and seven grandchildren; Heath Landry, Gage Dupuy, Keagen Landry, Kalynn Landry, Kyli Provost, Kelcie Michaud, Lance Provost Jr. and Cheri Sons also survive him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, Heath A. Landry, his parents, Paul and Audrey Pratt Landry.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 10pm. Resuming Monday , July 23, 2007 from 8am until 10am. Funeral service will be held at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in New Iberia at 11:30am. Jimmy will be laid to rest in St. Peter Cemetery.
