Hudson Joseph Bourgeois, 90, a native of Chacahoula,La. and formerly a resident of Berwick. La., died Friday July 27, 2007 at the Patterson Health Care Center.
Mr. Bourgeois loved many things during his lifetime including
Fishing, hunting, music and dancing, eating seafood and turkey
necks. He also enjoyed carpentry and fixing things. His pride and
joy was the garden that he grew every year. His joy was to give the
vegetables to his family and many friends.
God – family – country, were his priorities and he was a Catholic
by faith.
In his long life, he worked in the shrimping industry as well as
the oil industry.
Hudson was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather,
brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was the son of Octave and Josephine Ayo Bourgeois.
Mr. Bourgeois is survived by three sons, Donald Bourgeois and
his wife Louise of Houston, Texas, Des Bourgeois and his wife Janet of
Luling, La., and Rickey Bourgeois and his wife Laura of Duson, La.; a
brother Alden Bourgeois of Houma, La.; nine grandchildren, and fourteen
great grandchildren .
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Ruth “Nutchie” Fromenthal, his mother and father, eight brothers, two sisters, and one granddaughter.
The family received friends Sunday, July 29,2007, at Twin City
Funeral Home in Morgan City and again from 1PM until 2PM today.
Funeral service was conducted by Deacon Andrew Dragna
from Holy Cross Catholic Church at 2PM. Interment was in the Berwick
cemetery.
