Chad Michael Barras, 32, a lifelong resident of Morgan City passed away of natural causes at his residence on Sunday, February 19, 2012.
Chad had a very "Giving" heart. He was eager to share with all anything that he had, especially those he loved. A talented carpenter that followed in the footsteps of his Grandfather; Preston Verrett. He volunteered weekly at Lighthouse Community Church as Asst. Royal Ranger Commander. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Chad is survived by his parents, Don and Jane Verrett Barras of Berwick; one sister, Casey Kowatch and husband, Tom of Tennessee; Three uncles: Adam and Aaron Verrett and Larry Barras and wife, Darlene; four cousins: Katie and Lauren Verrett and Sabrina and Lelia Barras along with a close friend, Ted Smith.
Chad was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Preston and Hilda Verrett; paternal grandparents, Joe and May Ola Barras and his great grandmother, Esma Barras
Visitation will take place at The Lighthouse Community Church in Berwick on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 beginning at 6pm until 9pm and resuming at the church on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 8am until time of service at 11am. Chad will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum with his great grandmother.
