Ahney Elizabeth
Chauvin
Jun 12, 2015 — Aug 3, 2026
Patterson
With broken hearts and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our precious Ahney, whose beautiful life touched more hearts than words could ever express. Ahney passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 3, 2026, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, surrounded by her loving family.
Ahney was born June 12, 2015, in Thibodaux, the daughter of Lesley Rulf Chauvin and Gildon Chauvin.
Ahney was a true fighter from the very beginning. She defied medical odds time and time again with a strength that amazed everyone around her. Through every challenge, she met life with courage, determination, and a spirit that refused to give up. She kept her family, friends, and medical team on their toes, constantly reminding us that she was writing her own story.
One of the first things anyone noticed about Ahney was her contagious smile and unforgettable laugh. She had a way of lighting up every room she entered, bringing joy even on the hardest days. She was full of personality, always sporting her signature oversized bow and the sassiest little pants, making sure everyone knew she had style to match her spunky spirit.
Ahney found happiness in life’s simplest pleasures. She loved the water, delighted in bath time, and found comfort in being wrapped in the loving arms of those who adored her. She could spend hours enjoying her Barbie Dream House and watching Word Party, creating moments that will forever be treasured by those who shared them with her.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her mother, Lesley Chauvin and significant other Courtney Bissonnette; father, Gildon Chauvin; siblings, Jaleigh Chauvin and Tanner Bissonnette; maternal grandparents, Wendy and Les Rulf; paternal grandparents, Kammy and Brent Boudreaux; maternal great-grandmother, Lela Rulf; maternal aunt, Sarah Melancon and husband Dylan; paternal Aunts, Tori Chauvin, Debbie Murry and husband Charles.
Ahney was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Margaret Sheehan, Charles Sheehan, and Leslie Rulf Sr.; paternal great grandparent, Fannie Oris.
Although her time with us was far too short, Ahney’s life was filled with extraordinary love, resilience, and joy. She taught everyone around her what true strength looks like and showed us that even the smallest hands can leave the biggest imprint on our hearts.
Our hearts ache with the emptiness her absence leaves behind, but we are forever grateful for every smile, every laugh, every cuddle, every bow, and every precious memory. Ahney’s legacy is one of courage, unconditional love, and unwavering determination. She will be deeply missed every single day, lovingly remembered every moment, and forever cherished in our hearts. While we grieve the loss of her physical presence, we find comfort knowing that her beautiful spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were blessed to know and love her.
Our sweet Ahney, thank you for showing us what it means to fight with grace, love without limits, and live with joy. Until we meet again, you will always be our beautiful girl.
In keeping with the families’ wishes, Ahney will be cremated and no service will be held. The family ask in lieu of flowers; donations be made to The FedEx Family House. You may visit their website or Facebook page to donate: www.fedexfamilyhouse.org
