With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Barbara Jean Thibodaux, who peacefully departed this life on October 30, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 18, 1946, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Barbara leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family.

Barbara’s greatest blessings were her family and the generations of loved ones who brought so much joy and meaning to her life. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Marcell, and her husband, Robert; and her son, Micah Thibodaux, and his wife, Jennifer.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jake Marcell, Robert Marcell Jr., Maria Marcell, Grace Marcell, Katelyn Trahan and her husband, Bryson, and Cade Thibodaux. Her love extended to her precious great-grandchildren, Keely Castel and Rory Trahan, who held a special place in her heart.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Waddell Thibodaux Jr.; her parents, Christly and Lorraine Tumey; and her brother, Ronald Tumey, and his wife, Barbara.

Though her passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, Barbara’s memory will live on through the family she cherished, the love she shared, and the countless memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Barbara’s life on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Barbara will then be laid to rest at Berwick Cemetery.

May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before her, and may her love remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
