Batran “Adam” Billiot, 85, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Adam was born down the bayou in St. Mary Parish on January 27, 1937, the son of Bertrand Adam Billiot and Sadie LaCoste Billiot.
Adam was a chief engineer for Tidewater Marine for 40 years. After his years with Tidewater, his love for being on the water continued as a commercial fisherman. He truly loved being in the outdoors whether he was hunting, fishing, shrimping or taking a boat ride to the camp. Adam was the patriarch of his family and was always the one to get them together for family dinners, which he usually cooked for, showcasing his love for cooking. Adam was a proud member of the Houma Indian Nation. He truly had a servant’s heart, always serving others with his time and talents and his huge heart allowed him to live generously to help others. Adam truly never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two children, Troy Billiot and wife Shaunda and Tina Billiot and companion James Carline, all of Bayou Vista; three grandchildren, Troy Russell Billiot, Hannah Billiot King and husband Jay and Sean Rainey; three step grandchildren, D.J., Seth and Alexis; four great grandchildren, Ella Mae Billiot, Aria King, Emma King and Shephard Billiot; nine step great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Ida Crouch of Patterson. Adam is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Adam was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings, Anita Dinger, Robert Billiot, Virgie Gray, Rosalie Dinger, Aubrey Billiot Sr. and Sadie Louise Billiot.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Twin City Funeral Home.
