With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charlene Dallas, who left us on January 12, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on December 21, 1951,
Charlene was a proud mother, cherished friend, and a vibrant member of her community. Charlene was known for her deep love of family and her passion for collecting unique items that brought her joy.
A true sports enthusiast, she was an avid fan of both the New Orleans Saints and LSU, often rallying friends and family to cheer on her favorite teams.As a proud member of the American Legion Motorcycle Club, Charlene found camaraderie and adventure alongside her fellow bikers. Her adventurous spirit and zest for life touched everyone around her, and she will be dearly missed.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Joseph Gable Wood Jr., of Florida, Horace Monroe Wood of Florida, Stephanie Lynn Freeman (Dan Pavilk), of Oklahoma, Keith Wood (Melissa Oherin), of Missouri, and Denise Linsey of Morgan City; five sisters, Linda Reynaud and husband Jessie of Morgan City, Mary Beth Haskett and husband Carl of Mississippi, Charlotte Hill and husband John of Oklahoma, Cheryl Blakeman of Patterson, and Denise Estay of Morgan City; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charleston Estay and Beulah Adams Estay; former husband, Peter “Pete” Dallas; brother, Charles Joseph Estay Jr.; sister, Barbara Vining.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Joe Chacko officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again Friday, Janaury 16, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. After services, Charlene will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
