Coral Clifton Clark, Jr. passed away on Sunday August 2, from complications associated with

Parkinson's disease. Corky, as he was known to all, was 76 years old. Though reserved and private by nature, those who knew him recognized the warmth behind his big, sincere smile.

Music connected Corky to people and passion from youth through his final years. Born and raised in Morgan City, where he attended Shannon Elementary and graduated from Morgan City High School in 1967, Corky could be seen plucking his bass guitar with his friends in their band, The Barrons. This early love of music shaped his path forward. At Nicholls State University, he majored in Music

Education, staying active with the band while also driving the commuter school bus from Morgan

City; creating many stories to tell! Through Nicholls, he worked with the bands at Thibodaux High School and River Oaks Academy. Upon graduation, he became band director at Belle Chase and then Patterson High School, sharing his passion with young musicians. Even as his career path eventually shifted, music remained central to who he was. In later years, Corky hosted an annual pig roast where some of those same childhood friends gathered around the fire, singing and playing music together.

Corky's professional journey took an unexpected turn when his summer work at Cameron Iron Works led to a full-time position. Working as a software business analyst, he traveled all around the world, meeting coworkers and making friends across continents. He especially enjoyed his many trips to Scotland, where he formed deep friendships that he maintained through regular communication until his death. His dedication to Cameron lasted 40 years, a tenure that spoke to his loyalty and commitment.

Throughout his life, Corky was guided by core values that shaped his character. Having earned the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout as a young man, he believed deeply in the values of boy scouting and supported their local programs, taking great pride in his affiliation. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish and tend to his garden. He actively supported Ducks Unlimited and attended events around the state. As a practicing Catholic, he attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and often served as an usher, trying not to miss Saturday's 4:30 mass.

Corky's dedication to nurturing long-term relationships defined much of his life. He cherished many stays at the family camp in Grand Isle, where he could be found fishing with his father, close friends and nephews. Whether gathered around a fire at his annual pig roasts with childhood friends or casting lines at Grand Isle, Corky understood that life's greatest treasures were the people you chose to spend it with.

Corky was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adolph and Ellen Landry and Edgar and Mary Clark. His parents, Coral "CC" Clifton Clark, Sr. and Barbara Landry Clark. His brother, Curt Clark and sister-in-law, Martha Sue Bender Clark.

He leaves behind his sister, Cecilia Clark Melancon and husband Scott. His nephews Brian Melancon (Kathleen), Stephen Melancon (Erin) and niece Carly Clark (Matthew Hansen). Great niece, Audrey Melancon and great nephew, Cohen Melancon.

Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on August 4, 2026 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm. Interment will follow Mass at the Morgan City Cemetery. Twin City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
