David James Gettys

David James Gettys, 63, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

David was born on June 24, 1956 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Harold K. Gettys and Joyce Hodgkins Gettys.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Tammy Holden Gettys of Morgan City; six children, David Fonseca, John Fonseca, Donald Fonseca, Nicholas Fonseca, Adam Gettys, Kaysi Fonseca and Kristen Gettys; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Debbie Gettys, Kim Titus and Karen Byers.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Joyce Hodgkins Gettys; two sons, Matthew Gettys and Jarrad Fonseca.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
