Dorothy “Dot” Parro Bella, 93, a resident of Berwick, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Dot was born August 27, 1930, in Franklin, the daughter of Alexander Parro Sr. and Mabel Hebert Parro.
Dot retired from the Town of Berwick as a clerk after over 20 years of service. She was a parishioner of St. Stephen Catholic Church where she was actively involved in various capacities. Dot loved working in her flower beds; she was extremely proud of her flowers and took pride in making sure they were beautiful. She enjoyed entertaining guests at her home; she loved to cook and made sure anyone that walked through her doors left happy and well fed. Her home was a place for all to gather and everyone knew that.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her four children, Marsha Bella Zulick of Natchitoches, Chad Bella Sr. (Melinda) of Lafayette, Blaise Bella (Valerie) of Berwick, Bridget Bella Poleman (Craig) of Shreveport; two brothers, Herbert (Elaine) and Donald (Betsy) Parro; one sister, Dianne Parro Robicheaux (Ray); former spouse, Vincent J. Bella; 11 grandchildren, Richard L. Zulick (Denise), Kristen Zulick Dulin (Brian), David Cardinale (April), Chad Bella Jr. (Keaten), Samantha Bella, Blair Bella Greene (Josh), Beth Bella, Micaela Beach (Nathan), Sara Bella, Blaise J. Bella, and Taylor Poleman; 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Parro Sr. and Mabel Hebert Parro; her “born still” daughter, three brothers, Alexander Parro Jr. (Billie), Ernest “Shot” Parro Jr. (Carolyn), and Percy Parro; mother and father-in-law, Loretta and Joseph Bella.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to “Restoring St. Stephen Fund” 3217 Second Street, Berwick, La 70342.
The Bella family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the nursing care/home health of Morgan City and Haydel Memorial Hospice for thier loving care of our precious mom.
