Douglas J. Aucoin

Douglas J. Aucoin, born February 5, 1946 a lifelong resident of Amelia and a native of Morgan City, passed away July 10, 2021 at home with his children at his bedside. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Douglas is survived by his three children; Mark Aucoin and his wife Julie of Morgan City, Lisa and her husband Henry Swiber III of Morgan City, Jude Aucoin and his wife Colinda of Amelia. He was affectionately called Paw Paw Doug by 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and Uncle Dougie by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Douglas is also survived by his one brother Andrew Aucoin and wife Becky, sister Dora and her husband Wayne Pennison, and daughter in law Jodi Aucoin of Amelia County, VA Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Irma Aucoin, wife Ruth Aucoin, Son Derick Aucoin, Sisters Mary Brower and Shirley Baily. Visitation will be observed Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 14, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the Saint Andrew Cemetery in Amelia. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brittany Richard, Shelbi Robichaux, Hunter Boykin, Ashley Boykin, Katy Aucoin and Hope Aucoin.
