EDWIN THOMAS OURSO, JR

SEPTEMBER 27, 1953 – DECEMBER 23, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Edwin Thomas Ourso, Jr. (known as Dwin) announce his unexpected passing and gained his wings on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the age of 69. Edwin was one of eight children born to Edwin Thomas Ourso, Sr. and Sophie Pearce Ourso. Edwin was born on September 27, 1953, in Morgan City, La, where he became a lifelong resident.

Edwin had a great passion for the outdoors. He spent all of his spare time boat riding with his beloved companion, Julia - his standard poodle. He enjoyed the quietness of being home alone, while watching western movies and having Julia by his side. For having a quiet personality, his quick wit was hard to beat. To know him, was to love him.

Edwin is survived by his three children, Edwin Ourso, III, Eric Ourso and wife Nikki and daughter Antoinette Ourso.; six grandchildren, Alexis Ourso, Christian Davis Jr., Samuel Ourso, Tylor Ourso, Hayleigh Ourso, and Summer Ourso; one great grandchild, Kylyn Tenise Warner.

His siblings, Sheila Ourso Burdick and husband Ed, Aubrey Ourso and wife Janell, Ginger (Sophie) Ourso Rodriguez and husband David, Gianna Ourso Broussard, Sabena Ourso Crochet and husband Wilton, Dana Ourso and wife Jenny and Monessa Ourso Broussard and husband Dwight. Multiple nieces and nephews, and his beloved companion Julia.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Edwin Thomas Ourso, Sr. and Sophie Pearce Ourso; his grandparents Thomas Frank and Edmae Mendoza Pearce and Rudolph and Ida Mae Acosta Ourso.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. He fought a good fight; may he now rest in peace.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Cole at Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans, La who gave him an additional 16 years of life after others had given up on him. Edwin will be cremated, and his family will have a memorial service at a later date.
