Elsie Marie Lovell Martin

Elsie Marie Lovell Martin, 77, a native of Belle River and a resident of Stephensville, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Elsie was born July 21, 1948, in Assumption Parish, the daughter of Wilbert LaCoste and Nellie Gautreaux LaCoste.

Elsie was a faithful person, praying her rosary daily. She loved swamp pop music, taking trips to the casino, bingo, and enjoying outings with her friends and family.

Elsie is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Carol Martin; son, Troy Lovell (Becky); granddaughters, Kristen Naverro (Cameron), Kylie Lovell; great-grandchildren, Ava and Max Naverro; step-sons, Carol Martin Jr. (Cathy), Earl Martin (Cheri); step-grandchildren, Matthew and Linsie Martin; step great-grandchildren, Jacques, Olivia, and Grayson; sister, Edna Giroir (Herbert); sisters-in-law, Shirleen LaCoste, Carolyn Walker, and Bonnie Vining.

Elsie was preceded in death by her son, Wilbert “Will” Lovell; parents, Wilbert and Nellie LaCoste; siblings, Nolan, Angeline, Autry, Iva Mae, Margaret; her first husband, Tommy Lovell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home with Father Patrick Riviere officiating. Visitation will be held, Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. After services, Elsie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum.
