Gayle M Scully

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gayle Marie Scully, who departed this life on March 6, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on September 25, 1950, in Morgan City, Louisiana. A long-time resident of Patterson, Louisiana, she touched the lives of many with her warmth and passion for life.

Gayle was known for her love of singing, a pursuit that brought her immense joy and allowed her to share her spirit with those around her. She was known for her infectious laughter and a radiant smile that could light up any room. She had a passion for fishing and seafood. She also had a special bond with her dog, Mihy, who brought her joy and companionship throughout her life.

She is survived by her devoted sister, Vina Scully, and her step children Gina Mcafferty Cheruiyot, Jimmy Mcafferty, and Crystal Matherne. The bond they shared was a source of strength and love throughout her life.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents Hebert and Mable Scully; eight brothers, Hebert, Reid, Jayce, Eddie, Raymond, Lennies, Mike, and Joe; four sisters, Shirley, Margret, Val-Jean, and Lou.
