Genevieve “Neen” Broussard, 83, a resident of Stephensville, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, in Patterson Louisiana. Born, March 2, 1942, in Napoleonville, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Victor “Vic” and Audrey “Doot” Bailey
Genevieve’s love for her children and grandchildren was immense, like no other. She was the most selfless person; everyone’s needs came before her own and she wouldn’t have had it any other way. Her nurturing spirit and devotion has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was the greatest cook and could whip up a meal in no time, with no recipe needed. Her grandkids favorite was her flapjacks “crepes”. She’d stand by the stove for hours flipping them out the pan right into their plates, saying “Y’all not full yet? Y’all stomach’s going to bust”.
She worked as a cook for many years at Harbor Seafood in Stephensville. Once she had enough of the restaurant life, she started caregiving for the elderly, many becoming family. Talking on the phone to her sister-in-law Diane every night while ironing clothes was her favorite pass time, all while watching Nancy Grace. NO ONE in our house wore clothes that were not ironed, in fact we had to beg her to not use starch because it was too stiff.
The family would like to thank Patterson Health Care for their loving care they provided Neen during her time there.
Genevieve is survived by her daughter Melissa Breaux (Jacob), her sons, George Broussard Jr., Randy Broussard (Jackie), and Glynn Broussard. She was adored by her grandchildren Randi Marie, Kaleb, Chloe, Brittany, Chase, Victoria, Gavin, Jessy Lynn, Katy, Kayla, Alex, and Cameron and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving siblings Michael “Mike” Bailey Sr, Jimmy Bailey Sr, and Audrey Ann “Princess Di” Falcon.
She is preceded in death by George Broussard Sr, her parents Victor “Vic” and Audrey “Doot” Bailey and her brother Laurie Bailey Sr. She was met with open arms by her beloved Aunt Nelda “Nono” Daigle.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on May 12, 2025, at Twin City Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held at 9:00 AM until the time of services. Genevieve will be laid to rest following the service in Morgan City Cemetery.
