George “Randy” Randall Newlin, 72, a resident of Stephensville, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Ochsner New Orleans.
Randy was born December 1, 1953, the son of George “Bob” Robert Newlin and Juanita “Nita” Baker Newlin.
Randy was a hard worker, a dedicated entrepreneur, and together with his father, built their own business from the ground up in 1984—a testament to his determination and work ethic. An outdoorsman at heart, Randy loved hunting, especially on his own property in Texas. Randy also loved baseball and played well into his 50’s. He had a playful spirit, enjoying the thrill of skiing, pulling a slot machine lever and rolling the dice, always seeking the next adventure.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his Wife of 20 years, Cathy Newlin; children, Randi Newlin Burgess, Shontell Cormier, and Nichole Ramia; five grandchildren, Jason Michael Burgess, Drake Burgess, Kyleigh Burgess, Lillian Ramia, Brandon Ramia; one great-grandson, Brooks Burgess; one great-granddaughter on the way, Emmie Burgess; two sisters, Mandy Russell (Buck), Sandy Daigle (Terry); fur-baby, GiGi; mother-in-law, Dorsey Barras; nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; Bob and Nita Newlin; niece, Nicole Chasson; father-in-law, Melvin Barras Sr; brother-in-law, Butch Chasson.
To celebrate George's incredible life, a memorial service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at Twin City Funeral Home with Father Patrick Riviere officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather and share stories, laughter, and memories from 10:00 a.m., until the time of services. Following the service, George will be laid to rest, in Morgan City Cemetery.
