Obituary

Judy LaHoste Taylor, 69, a resident of Patterson, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Judy was born September 14, 1956, in Morgan City, the daughter of Calvert LaHoste Sr. and Elodie Verret LaHoste.

Judy dedicated her life to caring for others, spending many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She was known for her compassionate nature and her unwavering commitment to her patients. In addition to her nursing career, Judy had a special place in her heart for family cat Lilith and the animals of her neighborhood, often looking after raccoons, cats, and possums, showcasing her nurturing spirit. An avid crafter, Judy delighted in creating beautiful wreaths and sharing her culinary talents with family and friends. Her cooking brought joy to many gatherings, where she cherished spending quality time with her loved ones. Judy's strong Christian faith guided her throughout her life, reflecting her devotion and kindness to all.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Dennis Taylor; two sons, Joshua Taylor (Jennifer), and David Taylor; two grandchildren, Maelynn Taylor and Atlas Taylor; siblings, Brenda Hebert and husband Dana, Stephanie Gagneaux, Donald LaHoste, and Calvert LaHoste Jr.; nieces and nephews: Jessica, Kristen, Vanessa, Brandon, Matthew, Bruce Jr., Alicia, Andrew, Cherish, Patricia, and Nicholas; Taylor family, Roberto and Jessica, Brenda and Jim, Edwin, Becky.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Calvert Sr. and Elodie LaHoste.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Fromenthal officiating. A memorial visitation will be held, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m., until the time of services. Judy will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery at a later date.
