Kenneth “Flounder” B. Boyle

August 20, 1962 – October 25, 2023

Kenn was called home after battling illnesses valiantly over several years. He follows his parents, Kenneth P. Boyle, Nancy (nee Reynolds) Boyle, and his sister, Kelly Boyle. He is survived by his cousin, Annette Rebenock.

He was such an amazing, intelligent, loving, FUNNY, inspiring man. He was a loud, Irish Leo. He was an Executive Chef (his truest passion)—he danced in the kitchen. He worked in many well-known kitchens from New Orleans’ Commander’s Palace to California’s Napa Valley, and also in Arizona’s Hospitals. He always wanted to feed the world good food. His passion was to inspire people to cook great food so they could share and connect. He created his own spice blends to inspire that connectivity.

With his keen intellect he was always learning something new. He gave a helping hand when needed. He was a Captain America type of guy. He held an auction for a gal who’d lost her guy (his friend, Sir John). He did good deeds when no one was looking. He entered many competitions and won an award for Best Blarney! He did make up for Halloween productions and fell in love with his first love, Christine.

As a son of Air Force parents, he was an adventurer at heart. He crossed the US twice discovering new places and passions. Throughout his travels, he belonged to many groups. He dominated/led in some and learned to be a team/brother in others. He was a Master Diver who taught 1000’s of folks to scuba dive. He met the love of his life on one of his dives--Michelle.

Ireland was his favorite haunt. He was also a roadie who met several up-and-coming people—one was a solitary man named Robin Williams, toted water for the Rolling Stones, he told Peter Gabriel to “break a leg”, and became good friends with Johnette (Concrete Blonde). He cooked and shared meals with her and the band. Music soothed his soul. Pink Floyd, Concrete Blonde, and Gaelic folk music were in his top tier.

He was an avid football fan. His team was the Rams for over 55 years. He was so involved with his team that his friend, Edward, was known to say that he’d never seen so much controlled chaos. He was loyal to those he loved.

You see, wherever Kenn went, he connected with people. He had a huge “extended” family of people who loved him for who he was. That family got a great start with his “brothers” from the 4 th floor at ASU. This group is comprised of an eclectic yet very cohesive group of young men who each went on to become stars in their own worlds and who still maintained their friendships for over 40 years. These 19 + Kenn shared their adventures when they met annually. This group was his foundation, his family, his brothers. From his memories, the adventures had ARE legend.

Kenn continued to add family members: Connie (third love), Jess, Steve, Sunshine, Daniel, Debbie, Faelyn, Rusty, Jude, Johnathan, Jeanne, Marion & Craig, M. Noir, Treasure, TGQ, V., and William are few more. There are so many more in the culinary field that could fill another page. I am sorry if you are not listed, but you know who you are and you were in his heart. I was there too (final love), and I am grateful to those who made sure this Good Man will be laid to rest properly and with respect. You know who you are and exactly what you did. Thank you. He was loved and will be missed.

Twin City Funeral Home, 412 4th St, Morgan City, LA 70380, (985) 384-7630 are handling arrangements and a memorial service will be held on November 28, 2023 (Tuesday) between 5 and 7 p.m. Kenn will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in Morgan City Cemetery.
