Lance Toups

Lance Toups, 48, a resident of Berwick, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at his home.

Lance was born on July 25, 1972 in Abbeville, the son of Larry Toups Sr. and Mabel Romero Toups.

Lance had a love for the water and out of this love, he became a commercial fisherman.  He always enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. When he wasn’t on the water, he could be found riding his motorcycle. His true love, and what he was most proud of, was his wife and children. Lance cherished every opportunity he was able to spend with them.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Shantell DeHart Toups of Berwick; two children, Morgan Toups and Cade Toups both of Berwick; his parents, Larry Toups Sr. and Mabel Romero Toups of Stephensville; two brothers, Larry Toups Jr. of Erath and Leonard Toups and wife Stormy of Patterson; paternal grandmother, Marie Toups of Athens, Louisiana; his Godchild, Kyle Toups; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lance was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ophe and Wilda Mae Vaughn Romero; paternal grandfather, Louis Toups Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home with Pastor Ann Sutton officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services, and following services, Lance will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
