Obituary

Lester Rex Beam, 76, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 10, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Lester was born June 29, 1950, the son of Chester Huster Beam and Lois Sharp Beam.

Lester was a proud man, dedicated to providing for his loved ones and creating a happy life for his wife and children. He established his own company, Lazer Claims Investigations and Security; with a strong work ethic and an unwavering commitment to his craft, he gained the respect and admiration of many. Before embarking on his journey as a private investigator, Lester served as a police officer in Texas and Louisiana, a role that filled him with pride and fueled his passion for justice, especially because he was raised in a family of law enforcement officers. His loyalty to service extended to the Masonic Lodge, where he embraced the principles of brotherhood and community. Lester had a heart for the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved his garden, though the squirrels would always take his tomatoes. He had a special bond with his loyal dog Buddy, a companionship that brought him joy and comfort in his everyday life.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his four children, Chris Beam and wife Lori, Leslie Beam, Brandy Smith and husband Ryan, Kayla Senette and husband Bryan; 8 grandchildren, Trevor Beam and wife Hannah, Hena Beam and partner Sidney, Brett Smith, Baylee Smith, Kelsey Mikeska, Amos Beam, Landon Mikeska, Tucker Beam; great-granddaughter, Maggie Beam; two brothers, Ken Beam and wife Jill, Chester Beam and wife Bobby; four sisters-in-laws, Sue Beam, Patricia Wiggins, Yvonne Brown, Kathy Jensen and husband Herb, brother-in-law, Phillip A Wiggins and wife Elaine Wiggins.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lois Beam; wife, Brenda Mae Wiggins Beam; two brothers, Jesse McCoy and wife Connie and Winston Beam, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, Phillip and Agnes Wiggins.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 14, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 10:00 a.m. at which time a Masonic service will take place. Following services, Lester will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
