Logan Joseph Fromenthal Jr.

Logan Joseph Fromenthal, Jr., a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully Monday, May 27, 2024, at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Logan was born August 26, 1944, in Morgan City, the son of Logan Joseph Fromenthal Sr., and Irene Templet Fromenthal.

Logan retired from Shell Oil Co. after 32 years. A man deeply invested in his community, Logan dedicated 16 years to local politics, serving on the Morgan City Council and then on the St. Mary Council. Logan loved sports and played in high school and college. He continued playing throughout his life in some sport whether it was adult basketball, softball, or golf. He also generously shared his knowledge and passion by coaching his daughters in softball and his grandchildren in baseball. He was one of his grandsons’ biggest fans throughout their sports careers and even now with his great grandchildren.

Logan was an avid golfer, finding solace and joy on the green. He also had a green thumb, spending countless hours tending to his vegetable garden and honing his skills in woodworking. No one came to the house without him sending them home with fresh produce.

Yet, above all his accomplishments and activities, Logan's greatest happiness was found within his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, finding true joy in their company and shared experiences. He may fall asleep in his chair surrounded by the chaos, but he always wanted everyone there.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Susan Guzzetta; five daughters,

Annette Girard and husband Keith, Susan Mahfouz and husband Chris, Bonnie Dahlberg and husband Leon,

Lauren Fanelli and husband Anthony, and Erin Shipe; grandchildren, Sage Thibodeaux and wife Hayley, Gregory Leger Jr., Zackery Girard and wife Brooke, Dustin Girard and wife Lauren, Brittanie Girard, Rebecca Philbrook and husband Thomas, Colby Mahfouz and wife Tiffany, Dominick Guarisco and wife Miranda, Samuel Guarisco Jr., Philip Guarisco, Sophia Fanelli, John Fanelli, Diana Fanelli, Kate Shipe, Ava Shipe, Lucy Shipe, and Mary Grace Shipe, and Jacob Dahlberg; great-grandchildren, Logan Thibodeaux, Baylee Guidry, Avery Thibodeaux, Wyatt Thibodeaux, Easton Girard, Emma Girard, Mila Girard, Penelope Girard, Livie Girard, Layla Verett, Lawson Girard, Abigail Philbrook, Kane Guarisco, and Parker Guarisco; two brothers, Rodney Fromenthal and wife Marie, Dale Fromenthal; brothers and sisters in-law, Andrea Craig, Peggy Magee and husband Wiley, Lee Guzzetta, Lynn Romaire and husband Ricky, Paul Guzzetta and wife Torrie.

Logan was preceded in death by his parents, Logan Sr., and Irene; two sisters, Sandra Cox and Gwen Fromenthal, brother-in-law, Bob Craig, and grandson Tyler Thibodeaux.
