Lorena Gaudet Aucoin

Lorena Gaudet Aucoin, 103, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at White Oak Nursing Home.

Lorena was born August 13,1921, in Pierre Part, the daughter of Felix Gaudet Sr. and Rosalie Fryou Gaudet.

Lorena never met a stranger and was loved by all. She loved fishing, cooking, and spending time with family. She loved her Catholic faith and was faithfully praying her rosary; she was truly an angel on earth.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two sons, Anthony J. Aucoin Sr. and faithful companion, Julia Bijeaux; John J. Aucoin Jr. and wife Scarlett; brother, Louis Gaudet; grandchildren, Anthony J. Aucoin Jr., and wife Tracy Morvant Aucoin, Christen Aucoin Hebert and husband Patrick, Tiffany Aucoin, Lindsay Aucoin, 12 great-grandchildren, Patrick Hebert Jr. and wife Jessica, Ashten Hebert Lombardo and husband Justin, Ryan Hebert and wife Angel Roy Hebert, Jonathan Hebert, Matthew Hebert and wife Peyton, Elizabeth Hebert and fiancé Xavier Washington, Joseph Hebert and fiancé Alexis Deese, and Luke Hebert, Anthony “Trey” Aucoin and fiancé Alana Burroughs, and Sawyer Aucoin;17 great, great-grandchildren.

Lorena was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Rosalie Gaudet, husband, John J. Aucoin, Sr.; sister, Christine “Teen” Verette, six brothers, Victor, John, Eros, Felix Jr., Gilday, and Hembley Gaudet; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Christensen Aucoin.

Pallbearers will be Trey Aucoin, Sawyer Aucoin, Patrick Hebert Jr., Jonathan Hebert, Matthew Hebert, Joseph Hebert, and Ryan Hebert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Brett Lapeyrouse officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Twin City Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. After Mass, Lorena will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery with her husband, John.
