It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Louise Helen Lawton, aged 91, who departed this life on July 5, 2025, in Morgan City, Louisiana. Born on June 30, 1934, in Oklahoma, Louise was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose unwavering love and commitment to her family were truly exemplary.

Louise was especially known for her passion for arts and crafts, a pursuit through which she expressed her creativity and brought joy to those around her. Her artistic spirit and attention to detail made her creations cherished gifts that will be remembered fondly by all who received them.

Known for her quick wit and infectious humor, Louise brought joy to those around her, leaving an indelible mark through her laughter and spirit. Her remarkable ability to find humor in everyday life created cherished memories for her family and friends.

In her younger years, Louise was known for her adventurous spirit, having raced boats and enjoyed the thrill of the water. An avid bridge player, she engaged in many spirited games that fostered lasting friendships and laughter among those she played with.

Louise dedicated her life to her family, nurturing her loved ones with unwavering love and care. Her legacy is carried on by her two sons, Richard (Pete) Lawton and wife Sally and William (Bill) Lawton and wife Lisa. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Luke, Lauren, Matthew, Andrew and wife Sophie, Savannah, Jeffrey and wife Lauren, and Eric and wife Brittany. In addition, she is survived by nine great-grandchildren: LJ, Finn, Lilac, Grace, Emma, Sophie, Adam, Aria, and Henry.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents William and Greta Ussery and her husband Richard Lawton Jr.

Private graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in New Iberia.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be made to Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church, 517 Federal Avenue, MC 70380.
