It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mable Besse Lester, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on May 8, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Morgan City, Louisiana, on July 3, 1931, Mable lived her life dedicated to her family and friends. Her warm spirit, unwavering love, and nurturing nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Mable fostered strong connections with her family and friends, always putting their needs before her own. Her unwavering love and compassion for those around her made a lasting impact on her community.

Mable was known for her vibrant spirit, her passion for gardening, and her love of cooking. She often found joy in visiting the casino, where her laughter and vivacity were infectious. Throughout her life, Mable fostered a sense of warmth and togetherness among her loved ones, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Mable was a devoted mother to her four children, Theresa Mayon and husband Larry, Vincent Lester Jr. and wife Sherry, Patricia Anslem and husband Johnny, and Robert Lester and wife Darlene and a proud grandmother to her grandchildren, including Melissa Dupre and husband Steve, Angela Guillotte and husband Mike, L. J. Mayon and wife Sharon, Bryan Mayon and wife Jennifer, Vince Lester and wife Bonnie, Tammy Anslem, Amanda Price and husband Kyle, R. J. Lester and wife Kersten, and Jason Lester. Mable is also remembered by her twenty-three great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, James Besse and Marie Toups, who will remember her fondly. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Bae Bae.

Mable was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Annette Besse; her husband, Vincent Lester Sr.; six brothers, Charles Jr., Henry, Marvin, Alex, Adam, and Alcee Besse; and three sisters, Elizabeth Besse, Eula Mae Gast, and Francis Norman; and mother-in-law Idell Grabert.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Legacy Nursing in Morgan City and Franklin as well as Heart of Hospice for their compassionate care provided during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held in her honor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on May 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Prior to the Mass, there will be public viewings at Twin City Funeral Home on May 13, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM till 9:00 PM, and on May 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM until the time of Mass.
