It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Victoria Banosa Duval, lovingly known as “Betty,” a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Maria was born on November 2, 1941, in Cebu City, Philippines, and peacefully departed this life on March 1, 2026, in Morgan City, Louisiana.
Maria lived a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. As a proud homemaker, she poured her heart into caring for her household, always making sure that everyone was taken care of. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family and friends.
Though she had a nurturing heart, Maria also had a true firecracker personality. She was full of life, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind. She loved to celebrate and brought energy and laughter wherever she went. Her bold spirit, lively presence, and unforgettable spark are memories her family will forever cherish.
Maria’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her family. She was an avid animal lover, especially fond of her cats, and she found peace and happiness outdoors. Whether tending to her garden, casting a fishing line, or simply enjoying nature, she embraced life’s simple pleasures. She also enjoyed bowling and was known for her warm smile, gentle strength, and generous heart.
She is survived by her loving children: James Duval (Rachel), Albert “Billy” Jaculina (Evelyn), and Bettina Duval; her cherished grandchildren: Chasity D. Leonard (Avery), Chad Duval (Amber), Harley Morales (Rohm), Bria Duval, Thiel Welch, Hannah Jaculina, and Kyle Jaculina; and her beloved great-grandchildren: Owen Tabor, Jacob Tacy, Elijah Duval, and Abigail Duval. She is also survived by a host of family in the Philippines. Her legacy of love, resilience, and strength will live on through each of them. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Duval Sr., and her children, Jerry Duval Jr. and Dorothy (Dee Dee) Toliver.
A visitation will be held on March 14, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m., allowing family and friends the opportunity to pay their respects.
