It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Ruth Alcina, who departed this life on September 15, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on September 27, 1952, in Franklin, Louisiana, she was known for her unwavering faith and kind spirit.
Mary was a devoted believer in God, often expressing her faith with her cherished saying, "God is great." This mantra was a reflection of her deep spirituality and the grace she extended to others throughout her life. Mary found joy in the simple pleasures, particularly her love for coloring and cutting paper into tiny strips which brought happiness and creativity into her world.
Mary is survived by her brothers, Joseph Micheal Alcina, and wife Flavia, Joseph Murphy Alcina Jr. and wife Carrie and Allen Stevens Alcina and wife Ragan, and her sister, Alisa Alcina. Her memory will be treasured by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Jospeh and Pearl Alcina; one brother, David Alcina; and one baby sister, Eve Alcina.
A visitation for Mary will be held on September 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Victory Tabernacle, 19145 Hwy 182W, Jeanerette, Louisiana. Ministers Toni Liner, Chris Hebert & Jessie “Bull” Higgins will be officiating the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Following the service, Mary will be laid to rest in the Victory Tabernacle Cemetery.
