Mary Maranda Gaudet Tatum

Mary Maranda Gaudet Tatum, 73, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Ochsner St. Mary.

Mary was born August 8, 1952, in Morgan City, the daughter of Elward and Ester Gaudet.

Mary was definitely a one-of-a-kind person; a little firecracker to be honest. She had a big heart and loved hard, especially her only son, and of course grandbabies. Mary loved spending time with her family, but her favorite place to be was home, in her chair, with her little dog.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Terry Tatum; seven grandchildren, Bethany Tatum (Tyler), Austin Rivera, Shayna Tatum (Lantrell), Callen Richard (Shianne), Logan Metrejean (Paizley), Kaleb Tatum, and Brennan Tatum; four great-grandchildren, Kylee Tatum, Aubriee Tatum, Sawyer Palmature, and Zayliee Ayers, and two on the way; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Tatum; three brothers, Elward Gaudet Jr. (Kathy), Rodney Gaudet, and Patrick Gaudet; of course, all of her nieces and nephews; cousins, and adopted family along the way.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Michael Tatum; parents, Elward and Ester Gaudet; in-laws, Luther Biggs and Phylis Biggs.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m., until the services. After services, Mary will be laid to rest with her son in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle River.
