It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Maxine Guidry Brown, beloved mother, devoted wife, and cherished grandmother, who departed this life on January 12, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on April 9, 1954, in Morgan City, Louisiana, Maxine spent her life nurturing her family and creating a warm and loving home.
Maxine devoted herself to her role as a homemaker, where her talents shone brightly. An immaculate house cleaner and passionate cook, Maxine found joy in preparing meals that brought family and friends together. Her loving spirit embraced everyone, enriching their lives with her culinary delights.
A talented crocheter, Maxine lovingly crafted an Afghan for each of her grandchildren, a testament to her enduring affection. She was much more than a grandmother; she was a confidante, a friend, and a source of unconditional love. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treated each of them equally, expressing her love through time spent with them and the memories they shared.
Maxine also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying both hunting and fishing, often sharing these experiences with her family. Maxine also enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Rhonda Comeaux, and her bonus daughter and friend, Lana, sharing many laughs and memories together.
Maxine is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Patrick Brown Sr.; Seven children, Travis Paul Romero, Melissa Romero-Ward and husband Walter, Heather Ann Orgeron, Bridgette Dubois and husband Beau, Becky Hebert and husband Justin, Brandy Hebert and husband Wayne, Patrick “P.J” Wane Brown Jr. and wife Bridgette; 17 grandchildren, Travis Ricardo Romero, Trevor Romero, Lily Romero, Olivia Prado, Austin Mareno, Ryan Mareno and wife Alayna, Joseph Wiggins, Hailey Wiggins (Holden), Bethany Ruiz (Coy), Beverly Billiot and husband Sergio, Baily LeCompte and husband Tate, Taylor Brown and wife Noelle, Brennan Cubbedge, Wayne Hebert Jr., Hayes Brown and wife Alyssa, Haven Brown (Dustin), Hayden Brown; 22 great grandchildren and three on the way; two sisters, Mary Gaudet and husband Gene and Lynette Aulds and husband Randy; sister-in-law, Deborah Brown Bergeron and husband Roy; brother-in-law, Charles Brown and wife Ginger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Glenn Guidry and wife Shelia; in-laws, Charles and Essie Brown.
The family would also like to give special thanks to all her additional family and friends that have helped and supported Maxine during this journey.
A funeral service honoring Maxine will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Twin City Funeral Home, where family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness will gather to celebrate her life from 10:00 a.m., until the time of services. After services, Maxine will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
