Monique Picou Chitwood, born on June 22, 1961, in Gretna, Louisiana, passed away on September 13, 2026, in Morgan City, Louisiana, at the age of 65. Monique will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her passion for animals, her love of travel, and her talent for various forms of art.

She is survived by her siblings, Robbie Picou, Michelle Templet and husband Joey, and Denise Hobbs; and her cherished nieces and nephews, including Crystle Burns and husband Bryan, Mindy LaCoste and husband Tommy, Scott Templet and wife Nikki, Stephen Templet, and Brian Accardo and wife Chloe.

Monique was rugged yet beautiful in a way only she could be. Monique’s warmth, creativity, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Monique was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Anne Picou; husband, Steven Chitwood; and brother, David Picou.
