Nelda Kay Guidry

Nelda Kay Thomas Guidry, 63, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at her home.

Nelda was born on October 3, 1958 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the daughter of James O. “J.O.” Thomas and Guelda Turman Thomas.

Having been raised in Oklahoma, Nelda was a very proud of her roots and was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. In her free time, Nelda enjoyed journaling and writing about certain events in her life and she also loved getting away for joy rides in the car. She loved Tampico’s and was always up for a trip to her favorite restaurant. Nelda loved her family and was always bragging about them to others.   

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two children, Shelly K. Mayon and husband Mark Jr. of Patterson and Perry “PJ” Bailey Jr and wife Deryan of Thibodaux; four grandchildren, Mark Mayon III, Halie Mayon, Blaz Mayon and Ada James Bailey; two great grandchildren, Paisley Mayon and Kolbe Mayon; her best friend, Edmond “Eddie” Guidry Jr. of Bayou Vista; three sisters, Tammy Mayon and husband Tim of Berwick, Janice Fabre of Bayou Vista, Renee Judice and husband Ricky of Loreauville.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Kaden Mayon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home with a visitation being held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
