Peter Anthony
Businelle
Jul 29, 1947 — Jul 10, 2026
With profound sadness, yet unwavering faith in God’s promises, we announce the passing of Peter Anthony Businelle, who entered into eternal rest and into the arms of his beloved son Paul on July 10, 2026.
Born on July 29, 1947 in Berwick, Louisiana. Peter lived a life defined by hard work. He was the kind of man who believed in providing for those he loved and facing life’s challenges with strength and determination.
His absence will be missed by so many. His wife of 53 years, Theresa Businelle; he was a loving father to Lacy MacDougall and her husband Jeff; and a proud grandfather to Angelo Viscardi and Kaleigh, and Eli, Andre, and Stella Businelle. He is also survived by his brothers, Victor Businelle Jr. (Janet), Jerry Businelle (Martha), and Robert Businelle; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved, sharing stories, offering wisdom, and creating memories that will live on for generations.
In recent months, he faced serious illness with remarkable courage. Though the journey was difficult, he remained surrounded by the love of his family, the prayers of friends, and the grace of God. While our hearts ache, we rejoice knowing he is now free from pain and safely in the presence of his Savior.
He is reunited in heaven with his son, Paul Anthony Businelle; his parents, Sadie Topham Businelle and Victor Businelle, Sr.; his brother, Elton “Boo Boo” Businelle; his sister, Rosalie Ratcliff; his in-laws, Bessie and Gharon Freeman, Wayne Freeman, Barbara and Mickey Morgan, and Herman Richardson; his nephews, Johnny Morgan and Chris Rowell; great nephew Charles Paray Jr., and all those who welcomed him home into Heaven.
A celebration of his life will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 1:00 with visitation beginning at 9:00. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Patterson.
We know this is not goodbye, but “until we meet again.”
