Ronald “Chris” Hinkle, age 66, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026. Born on February 22, 1960 in Morgan City, LA, Chris was a man whose kindness left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Chris had a quiet, steady way about him and a natural ability to figure things out. He could fix just about anything and had never met a stranger. In his younger years, Chris enjoyed four wheeling, scuba diving, and was an avid shrimper who always took pride in his work. He was known for his strong work ethic and the kind of intelligence that spoke for itself.
He is survived by his children; Carla Hinkle and her spouse, Danna Mayon; Cullen Hinkle and his spouse, Jessica Otto; and Cassi Coleman and her spouse, George Underwood. He was a proud grandfather to Layla Billiot, Iris Hinkle, Daxton Coleman, and Christian Carbonell, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by his sister, Gay Lynn Hinkle Blanchard; his brothers Charles “Chuck” Hinkle and CD Hinkle, and his wife Rosa; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Juneau Marler; his stepfather, Carl Marler, his sisters Connie Hinkle and Sharon Hinkle Gautreaux; and his beloved dog Misty.
Chris will be remembered for his gentle heart, his knack for fixing just about anything, and the familiar way he greeted others as “buddy-row”. His memory will live on in the stories shared and the lives he touched over the years.
Visitation will be at Twin City Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9am-12pm, with services starting at 12pm. Interment will be held at a later date.
