It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Franklin Kober (“Ronnie”), who departed this life on April 2, 2026, at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home, at the age of 84. Ronnie was born on August 23, 1941, in Morgan City, Louisiana.
Ronnie proudly served in the 4 th Armored Division of the United States Army in Nuremberg, Germany, where he exemplified the values of courage and commitment. He dedicated his life to serving his God, his country, and his family. Ronnie had a passion for woodworking and possessed exceptional skills in creating beautiful pieces that reflected his love for craftsmanship. He also found great joy in attending church services at Bayou Vista Baptist Church.
Ronnie had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness and generosity will be fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched. Ronnie was a devoted husband to Mary Alpha Kober, with whom he shared 60 loving years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories and unwavering support for one another. In addition to his beloved wife, Ronnie is survived by his son, Ronald Kober Jr. (“Scoot”) and wife Mandi; his brothers, Henry and James Kober and wife Linda; and his sisters, Sandra Bell and husband Douglas, and Nancy Kober.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Kober; three brothers, Wayne Kober, Michael Kober and Steven Kober; and four sisters, June Badeaux, Louise Harvey, Florence Winters and Evelyn Kober.
There will be a visitation at Twin City Funeral Home on April 8, 2026, starting at 5:00 pm till 8:00pm. A visitation will also take place at the Bayou Vista Baptist Church on April 9, 2026, beginning at 8:00 am for family, and 9:00am for everyone else, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 11:00 am. Ronnie will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery following the funeral service.
