Ronald "Ronnie" Steven Ghirardi

Ronald “Ronnie” Ghirardi, 77, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his home. 

Ronnie was born September 20, 1946, in Morgan City, the son of Steve Albert Ghirardi and Velda Kirkland Ghirardi. 

A proud LSU Tigers fan, Ronnie’s enthusiasm for football was infectious, cheering on his team from the stands, or just at home in front the television. Beyond the field, Ronnie found solace and joy in playing music, sharing his talents in multiple bands throughout the years which was called GG Shinn and the Rollercoasters and Vince Anthony and the Blue Notes; his music will forever echo in our hearts.
 
In addition to his love for football and music, Ronnie’s culinary skills were unmatched. As the owner and operator of a restaurant supply company for 38 years, Ronnie provided for his family and the local establishments with dedication and care. Cooking for friends was a passion and tailgating while cooking, and his family and friends were constantly treated to his delicious creations.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Nettie Ghirardi; two daughters, Stacey Williams and husband Jay, Shelly Lewis and husband Randy; three step-sons, David Daigle and wife Aleathea, Kevin Daigle and wife Victoria, and Todd Daigle; son-in-law, Marcus Chauvin; daughter-in-law, Wendy Daigle; grandchildren, Alyssa Williams, Alexis Lewis, Tyler Chauvin, Morgan Daigle, Erin Williams, Kinley Daigle, Cooper Daigle, Huntor Daigle, Ross Conner, Toby Davis, and Derrick Lewis and wife Simone; great-granddaughter, Charlie Lewis; brother, Pete Ghirardi; sister, Glenda Clements.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Steve, and Velda Ghirardi; daughter, Ronda Chauvin; granddaughter, Megan Brooke Lewis; grandson, Mason Daigle; sister-in-law, Debby Ghirardi; and brother-in-law, Brent Clements.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 3, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Keeping with Ronnie’s wishes, he will be cremated following the services.
