Rowena Rini Giroir

Rowena Rini Giroir, 82, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully, March 23, 2024, at her home.

Rowena was born October 27, 1941, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Lorraine Rini and James “Jimmy” Rini. 

Rowena enjoyed spending her mornings under her carport with a cup of coffee, and most days she was joined by friends. Her Italian heritage shined through in her exceptional culinary skills, often preparing delicious Italian dishes for her family and friends. Rowena was a very hard worker; she was a business owner. She was a project person and enjoyed helping others with home remodels. Rowena also loved gardening and always made sure her flower beds were beautiful. She was a dog lover and had many fur babies throughout her lifetime. Rowena also loved her grandbabies with all her heart and cherished spending time with them. 

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three daughters, Cheryl Percle, Connie Gilmore Ledet and husband Dean, Barbara Hebert; grandchildren, Casey Percle, Hailey Barrilleaux (Quentin), Brie Viet Vu (Vinh); great-grandchildren, Haven Wiggins, Kyle Wiggins, Brennan Sobol, Olivia Viet Vu, Bryce Barrilleaux, Cason Barrilleaux, Alli Barrilleaux; great-great granddaughter, Saniya Scott; numerous surviving family members in Chicago. 

Rowena was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Giroir; parents; brother, Tony Rini; son-in-law, Dwayne Gilmore; grandson, Cory Percle; aunt, Mary Galluzzo; life-long best friend, Susan Moncada Falgout. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home with Father Francis Kayaye officiating. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m., until the time of services.  After services, Rowena will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
