Rubye Tabor Soileau, of Morgan City, Louisiana, was born on January 18, 1947, to Philip and Lauretta Tabor. She passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by the comfort, love, and presence of her family.
Rubye was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived her life guided by faith, love, and service. Her testimony and devotion to her family were an inspiration to those around her and will be remembered always.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, George Wayne Soileau; her sister, Hallie Tabor Whiting (David) of Utah; her children, Carmen Soileau of Morgan City, Christine LaCoste (Jerry) of Morgan City, Rebecca Keppers (Shawn) of Morgan City, Jennifer Hemard (Eric) of Texas, Erica Toups (Donny) of Morgan City; her goddaughter Nicole McCloy (Tony Albert) of New Orleans; as well as many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Codey LaCoste (Nadia), Zachary LaCoste, Aaron Gore, Jared Gore (Leia), Madison Gore (Kolby Ritter), Shelbi Keppers, Christopher Keppers, Ian Keppers (Shaylynn Mire), Hannah Toups (Alex Turner), Austin Toups, Tyler Hebert, and Zarian Hebert; and her treasured great-grandchild, Spencer Ritter.
Rubye was preceded in death by her father, Philip Tabor; her mother, Lauretta Tabor; her grandson, Cameron “Little Bear” Billingsley; and her granddaughter, Zoee’ Hebert.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Codey LaCoste, Zachary LaCoste, Aaron Gore, Jared Gore, Christopher Keppers, Ian Keppers, Austin Toups, and Tyler Hebert.
The family will forever cherish the love, strength, kindness, and memories Rubye shared throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2026, at Twin City Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. After services, Rubye will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
