Sidney John Raymond, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 3, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Sidney was born August 7, 1936, in Morgan City, the son of Raymond J. Raymond and Mary Macluso Raymond.

Sidney was not just a resident of Morgan City; he was a cherished member of its community. A proud member of the Masonic Lodge and a dedicated Shriner, he served with a commitment that reflected his kind-hearted nature. Whether he was on the dance floor or paying bingo with his friends, Sidney brought a vibrant energy that lifted the spirits of everyone around him. His passion for buying, selling, and trading was a testament to his adventurous soul—Sidney loved discovering treasures and sharing stories with those he met along the way.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his 4 daughters, Cheryl Blanchard and husband Ronnie, Peggy Opiela and husband Johnny, Ginny Raymond and significant other Don Hebert, Tina Crews and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Bryan Blanchard and wife Stephanie, Brent Blanchard and wife Bonnie, Hayley Opiela, Josh Courtney and wife Ann, Stephanie Courtney, Kristen Lirette and husband Josh; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Olivia, Blake, Nora, Jackson, Hudson, Harper, Carson, Owen, Camdyn; brother, Mike Raymond; Sidney’s companion, Marlyn Bertrand.

Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Raymond; wife, Elnora Beadle Raymond, sister, Pat Rhoades.

A Masonic service will be held at11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 11,2026, at Twin City Funeral Home, with graveside services being held immediately following at Morgan City Cemetery with Father John officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
