Thomas Hanis

Thomas P. Hanis, 61, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, in Berwick, LA. He was born March 27, 1961, to Joseph and Shirley (Gregersen) in Muskegon, MI and lived most of his life there before moving to Berwick, LA.

Tom was employed at the Amelia Belle Casino as Engineer of Watch and also served in the past as a volunteer Fireman in Norton Shoes, MI.

His wife Christina Hanis (Erickson) survives him along with his son Thomas Hanis, Jr. and one grandchild; his mother, Shirley (George) Butcher; 2 brothers, Joseph and Daniel (Sherry) Hanis; 6 sisters, Anne (Tim) Kitzman, Betty (Dale) Witham, Patty Parker, Nancy (Steve) McMullen, Marilyn (Richard) DeWard, Julie (Tim) Willer; sister-in-law, Jody; stepbrother, Rick Nicholl and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristin Marie Hanis; his father, Joseph; his sister, Christine Grayson; his brother Michael; his step-sister, Jody Nicholl; his stepmother, Norma.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Louisiana and in Muskegon, Michigan.
