THOMAS VERNON OZIO
Thomas Vernon Ozio passed peacefully into our memories on 12 January 2024 at age 68. He was a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City and an avid fisherman and hunter. Tom also loved to cook in quantity like his Grandmother Ozio.
He was a loving and very involved son, husband, father, brother, and friend. His family, both immediate and extended, was his priority. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and earned a radiologic technology degree from Northeastern Louisiana University. Later in his career he became a registered ultrasound sonographer. Tom worked at Lakewood Hospital in Morgan City and North Oaks Health System in Hammond until he retired in 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L. T. Ozio, Jr., and Yvonne LeDoux Ozio.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, veterinarian Dr. Leila Causbie; his daughters Anna Ozio (Tyler Havercamp) and Marjorie Ozio (Daniel Rivera-Sanchez); and his granddaughters Alice Elizabeth Havercamp and Bélen Sanchez-Ozio; brother Paul Ozio, and sisters Pauline Fulda (David), Dottie Ulrich (Greg), and Teresa Dillenkoffer (Andreas); and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Tom will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity, compassion, and great sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
