Verna Lee Vining LaCoste

Verna Lee Vining LaCoste, 85, a resident of Berwick passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at Teche Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Verna Lee was born February 12, 1933 in Berwick the daughter of Vernie Adam Vining and Edith Theriot Vining.

Verna Lee's door was always open to company, especially for 2:00 p.m. coffee. She loved having her children and grandchildren over for sleepovers and enjoyed cooking for everyone. Vernalee also loved to be outdoors tending to her flowers.

Verna Lee will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by six children, Jared LaCoste Sr. and wife Sherry of Centerville, Charles LaCoste and wife Leslie of Patterson, Veronica Scully and husband John of Broussard, David LaCoste Sr. of Patterson, Nancy Bain and husband Roy of Walling TN, Melinda Mahfouz and husband Joseph of Centerville; one brother, Floyd Vining Sr. of Morgan City; one sister, Patricia Dianne Knowles and husband Russell of Thibodaux; 13 grandchildren, Melissa Ganaway, Jared LaCoste Jr., Dalton LaCoste, Cassandra LaCoste, David LaCoste Jr. Nicholas LaCoste, Priscilla Lockhart, Dean LaCoste, Jenna Posten, Phillip Posten Jr., Sonia Farnsworth, John Scully, Jada Scully; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Verna Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Parker LaCoste; parents, Vernie and Edith Vining; one sister, Vida Mae Venable; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Anthony Ganaway, Brianna Elise Farnsworth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Berwick. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Twin City Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will continue Friday, July 6, 2018 at Twin City Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. dismissal. After Mass Verna Lee will be laid to rest in Berwick Cemetery Mausoleum.
