Viola Mary Hebert Jackson, 77
Amelia, LA
August 29, 1948 - November 19, 2025
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Viola Mary Jackson, age 77, who departed this life on November 19, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Morgan City, Louisiana. Born on August 29, 1948.
Viola Mary Hebert Jackson was a strong woman who wholeheartedly believed in God and quoted His Word for every circumstance up until her last breath. With God is where she is, celebrating Him for eternity.
When you think of Viola’s life, you also think of her husband Jerry Jackson Sr., and together, they made their home in Amelia. A retired chef in the restaurant, Viola turned into the all-time family chef and go-to baker for all celebrations. Viola created a community in her house, a grandchildren’s fun escape and a best friend’s place to speak Cajun French in front of the children.
Outside of her home with family, Viola enjoyed gathering with friends to share laughs at game nights, playing some of her favorite games, like Uno and Phase 10. “That was my favorite thing to do,” Viola quoted in her last days on this side of Heaven. Of all the things she’s proud of, it’s the family she left behind. Viola is survived by her son, Jerry Jackson Jr. and wife Michelle, and her daughter, Robin Jackson and husband David. She will also be missed by her sister, Louise Rodger, who shared many cherished memories with her throughout their lives. In addition to her immediate family, Viola leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Jessicca and husband Josh., Brent and wife Bree., Justin and wife Harley., Mariah and husband Jermey., and Mallory and husband Matt., along with her precious great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Ashton, Elliot, Benjamin, Adrianne., Bryden, and Alayna, and Marilyn.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Noelie Hebert, her husband Jerry Jackson Sr.; three brothers, Gene Hebert, Wilson Hebert and Wilton Hebert, and five sisters, Annie Daigle, Jeanne Fryou, Noelie Mayon, Liz Landry, Levie Angeron.
A visitation will take place at Twin City Funeral Home on November 25, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Viola and to celebrate her remarkable life. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Morgan City cemetery.
